General options for the Vibrasonic® Deblinding System
The patented Vibrasonic® Deblinding System has been developed to be a flexible, retrofit system that can be used in any industry on any vibratory sieve. It is a tuned system comprising of a control box, providing power to drive an ultrasonic probe that is fitted to a specially designed mesh frame. Each component works in unison to provide a frictionless mesh screen to prevent mesh blinding.
Model Options
The Control box
VDS 2000 – This is the more commonly used system out of the two as it is more advanced, offering you more power and versatility including activity and power level control, fault diagnostics and being able to drive much larger diameter mesh frames.
RF40 – This is more suited to smaller diameter mesh frames and is a more cost effective solution.
Both systems are rated to IP65 (NEMA 4) protection as standard to allow for easy cleaning. In addition, they also have PLC interface capabilities to allow for functions such as remote stop/start or feed stop/start control.
Explosion proof systems
In most cases, when the sieve is operating within an explosive environment, the control box will be placed in a safe area. However, in some cases installing the control box in a safe area is not practical and therefore both systems can be supplied in explosion proof versions (ATEX certified for use in zones 21, 22, 1 and 2). Air-purged boxes are also available for zone 1 areas.
Stainless Steel Enclosures - For both industrial and pharmaceutical applications, wash down proof stainless steel enclosures can be used for improved cleaning or durability.
The Probe
This component transmits the ultrasonic frequency into the mesh screen. A standard probe comprises of a Titanium core, housed within an aluminium casing fitted with a cable assembly, which is routed to the outside of the sieve where it can be easily connected to your control box. Since the probe is mounted to the inside of the sieve unit, and in contact with your product, we have a wide range of options available to suit many different applications. This therefore ensures we can supply a specification tailored to meet your requirements.
Stainless steel housings

Commonly used within abrasive or high specification applications, the probe can be supplied with a stainless steel housing. A stainless steel cable conduit can also be included to prevent product contact with the cable. The housing and conduit can be finished to suit your requirements, from satin to mirror polished finished to match the quality control standards of any industry including high specification Pharmaceutical requirements.
Explosion proof/ATEX specification
The Russell Vibrasonic® probe is certified and safe for use in potentially explosive gaseous or dusty environments. Russell Finex offer two explosion ratings:
Europe:
ATEX certified for use in zones 20, 21, 22, 0, 1 and 2 (Group II, category 1, gases and dusts and explosion protection is to E Ex d m IIC T4).
Rest of the world:
US electrical standard NEMA 9 (Class I, Div I, group C & D, Class II, Div I, groups E, F & G). FM (Factory Mutual) and CSA are also recognised approvals.
Cable specifications
Russell Finex offer a PVC or Silicone cable as standard that have been specifically designed for optimum Vibrasonic® performance. However, a number of options are available to ensure we meet your needs.
- Variable cable lengths – There are a range of standard cable lengths available to provide you with flexibility when positioning your control box
- Armoured cabling – These cables are used in explosion proof/ATEX environments or in applications where cabling may be run over by plant equipment
- Stainless steel conduit – This is fitted between the probe and the side of the vibratory sieve and provides additional protection for the cable while also avoiding product contact
- Food grade cabling – Suitable for food and pharmaceutical applications
- Connections – A variety of standard connection methods are available to connect the probe to the control box
The Mesh Frame
The BX system – The BX system consists of a self supported screen and Velocity Transfer Plate (VTP), providing even activity throughout the screen while also providing a solid connection for the probe.
The Spiroscreen™ – This patented design is especially suited to larger diameter mesh frames and ensures maximum capacities are achieved on screens up to 2m in diameter.
Others – Combining its unique flexibility and our expertise, we can ‘tune’ and fit Vibrasonic® systems to almost any shape of mesh frame on the market.
